Research Team on Fundamental Theory of Parallel Mechanisms and Mechatronic System Integration

The research team has been engaged in the theoretical and applied research of parallel mechanisms for over 30 years. Over this period, the team has received numerous awards, including one First Prize of the National Science and Technology Award (nominated by the Ministry of Education), one Second Prize of the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of the Ministry of Education’s Natural Science Award, three provincial-level awards, and one industry-specific award. The team has led more than 20 national and provincial-level projects, including the National Key R&D Program, the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program), the “13th Five-Year Plan” Common Technology Project of the Equipment Development Department, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and various other ministerial and provincial initiatives. Additionally, the team has collaborated on over 30 industry-sponsored projects.

The team has published one monograph, over 150 academic papers, and been granted nearly 100 invention patents. It has also supervised more than 130 doctoral and master’s students.

    Main Research Directions:
    - Fundamental theory of parallel mechanisms and their applications
    - Innovative design and development of special-purpose robots
    - Innovative design of rehabilitation and nursing robots

The team has achieved notable innovative outcomes in areas such as the fundamental theory of parallel mechanisms and its applications in shipborne stabilization platforms and bio-integrated rehabilitation robots, integrated design of special-purpose robots, and multimodal human–robot interaction technologies. Furthermore, the team actively collaborates with numerous enterprises and research institutes to promote technology transfer and industrial application.
