Zhang Shuaizhong, a Humboldt Scholar and a recipient of the National High-level Overseas Talent Program, received his Ph.D. from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2019, under the supervision of Professor Jaap den Toonder, an academician of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering. From 2021 to 2022, he was funded by the Humboldt Scholarship to conduct postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Germany, under the guidance of Professor Metin Sitti, an academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States. Currently, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Yanshan University. He serves as a young editorial board member for the journals Additive Manufacturing Frontiers and Microstructures, a guest associate editor for Micromachines, and a young member of the Additive Manufacturing Technology Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. He has led the Humboldt Scholarship and the National High-level Overseas Talent Program funds, and participated in the European Research Council Advanced Grant (core member, ranked 2/8, 24 million yuan). He has published 17 SCI papers, including 9 as the first author in academic journals such as Science Advances, Advanced Functional Materials, and ACS Nano. His main research focuses on micro-nano functional systems, including micro-nano robots, micro-nano actuators, and microfluidic technology.
