Academic CV of Deng Shuping:

Currently Director of Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research Center (New Think Tank included in CTTI) of YSU; Curator of Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization Museum of YSU; and acting head of Academy for Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization of YSU; head for Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research of Philosophy Social Science Research Base in Hebei;  associate professor of library science and master supervisor.

2009 served as Deputy Curator for Business of Heilongjiang River Area Museum

2012 hired as a visiting researcher by Heilongjiang Basin Civilization Research Center of Heilongjiang University

2015 served as the Director of the Institute of History and Culture of Heishui Mohe of Harbin Academy of Social Sciences and hired as a visiting professor by the School of History and Culture of Harbin Normal University

2019 transferred to Yanshan University responsible for establishing the research center (new think tank), museum and research institute

2022 hired as a special researcher by Frontier Research Institute of Zhejiang Normal University.

Present member of Chinese Association for Nationality History; member of Chinese Museums Association; member of Society of History of Liao and Jin & History of the Jurchens and Khitans; member of Hebei Association of Museums; Director of Hebei Society of Cultural Relics and Archaeology; Vice Chairman of Research Association of Sino-Japanese Relations History in Northeast China; Secretary General of the Secretariat of Belt and Road Cultural Heritage Global Alliance at Yanshan University.

Long engaged in the study of ancient ethnic history in Northeast China and ancient silk road stations in Northeast Asia, directly participated in the construction of 10 comprehensive museums (including one national third-level museum; two national second-level museums); presided over and participated in 2 sub-projects of major entrusted projects and 3 sub-projects of major projects supported by the National Social Science Fund of China; 2 provincial projects; 3 provincial think tank achievements; 1 proposal of the National People's Congress; won one Outstanding Paper Award from the National Cultural Heritage Administration; one first group prize of the 13th Outstanding Achievements in Social Science in Jilin Province; one second prize of the 18th Outstanding Achievements in Social Science in Hebei Province; one outstanding topic of publications in Hebei in 2021; and one first prize of Outstanding Achievements of CTTI-included New Think Tank in 2022.

Published multiple academic monographs such as Research on History and Culture of Tuoli, History of Fuyu and Research on Ancient Silk Road Nationalities and Cultural Relics in Northeast Asia, and more than 30 academic papers in journals such as Social Science Front, Research of China’s Frontier Archaeology and Northern Cultural Relics.

Established Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research Center (New Think Tank) of YSU, Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization Museum of YSU, Academy for Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization of YSU, started and edited the internal journal Ancient Silk Road Civilization in Northeast Asia.

Had multiple academic works collected by internationally renowned libraries and exerted great influence in international academic circles, e.g., Research on History and Culture of Tuoli, collected by the University of Toronto Libraries in Canada and University of Michigan Library in the United States, History of Fuyu, collected by Yale University Library, Duke University Libraries, Indiana University Libraries, US Library of Congress, University of Tokyo Library, Tohoku University Library, Kanazawa University Library, Hosei University Library and Taiwan Fu Ssu-Nien Library, Research on Ancient Silk Road Nationalities and Cultural Relics in Northeast Asia, collected by Columbia University Libraries, US Library of Congress, Nara National Research Institute of Cultural Properties in Japan and Fu Ssu-Nien Library.

Sep. 18, 2020    planned and presided over the New Think Tank Forum of Northeast Asian Silk Road Civilization Research Center, Yanshan University, which was attended by more than 300 scholars from domestic research institutes and universities online and offline, and was later reported by xuexi.cn.

Oct. 20, 2020    an exclusive interview Deng Shuping and His Three Wishes published in China Science Daily and reprinted in full by Science Network, which had great academic and social influence.

Jul. 2022  planned a painting and calligraphy invitation exhibition, Light of Silk Road, involving 32 famous calligraphers and painters from 13 provinces and regions in China, which achieved success and great artistic influence.
