Resume

Prof. Chen was born in 1957. He received his Bachelor degree in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics of Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute in 1982. And he received his Ph.D. degree in Machinery Design and Theory from Yanshan University in 2002. From 1982 to 1987, he worked in the Department of Mathematics of Yanshan University as a Teaching Assistant. From 1987 to 1992, he worked in the College of Science of Yanshan University as a Lecturer. From 1992 to 1998, he was an Associated Professor of the College of Science of Yanshan University. Since 1998, he has been a Full Professor of the College of Science of Yanshan University.

Prof. Chen also has research experiences abroad. From 2016 to 2019, he was appointed as a research professor by LE STUDIUM in France.

Recently, Prof. Chen constructs collaboration with Professor Thierry Barrière, Univ. Bourgogne Franche-Comté, FEMTO-ST Institute, CNRS/ENSMM/UTBM, Department of Applied Mechanics, 25000 Besançon, France.

Prof. Chen is an international expert on applied mathematics and applied mechanics. His research interests mainly focused on numerical algorithms for differential equations, especially with fractional orders and variational fractional orders, viscoelastic material ,control and boundary element method in contact problem and calculation and application. Until now, Prof. Chen has published about 160 international journal articles and international conference articles and contributed 5 co-edited special books. Moreover, he has achieved 8 research projects. Thanks to his work, he has earned First Award of Science and Technology Progress of China Ministry of Mechanical Industry and Third Award of Education of Hebei Province in 1999 and 2000 respectively.

 Prof. Chen has supervised a total of 76 graduate students, among whom 68 have graduated, and 8 are currently studying. The representative topics of the annual graduate students are as follows:

These research directions are mainly as follows:

Adaptive boundary element methods and its application; Variational inequality; Numerical solution in differential equation; Three-dimensional adaptive BEM; Parallel QR Algorithm; Fast multipole boundary element method; Stability analysis of neural networks; Elasto-plastic about FM-BEM; Wavelet boundary element method; Fuzzy H- adaptive; Supersingular integrals and fractional differential equations; Fractional modeling and numerical simulation of three kinds of viscoelatic beams;

Prof. Chen has organized three international conferences: 2019 International

Conference on Fractional Calculus Theory and Applications,2010 ACIS International Symposiums on Cryptography, Network Security, Data Mining and Embedded Systems and the 2011 International Conference on Intelligent Structure and Vibration Control, in France and China respectively, where he was the present of conference and the editor of proceeding. Prof. Chen is an active reviewer for many journals, especially for Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, where he has been certificated as a valued reviewer by ELSEVIER publisher in 2010.

 April 2005 to October 2005, he worked in the University of Glamorgan in United Kingdom as a senior visiting professor. From April 2005 to April 2007, he worked in the Department of computing and Mathematical Sciences in the University of Glamorgan in United Kingdom researching on the subject Robust Control and Estimation with Applications as a Postdoctoral Fellow.

Prof. Chen was the Dean of the College of Science of Yanshan University for 14 years (from 1998 to 2012). During this period, he constructed the Laboratory of Computational Mathematics, and he also constructed the Department of Information and Computer Science and the Department of Statistics. Moreover, when he was the Dean of the College of Science, he has organized students to participate in international and national competitions on Mathematical Contest in Modeling, where they obtained satisfactory scores.

Prof. Chen is the membership of Chinese Society of Induction and Applicative Mathematics, Chinese Society of Computing Mechanics and Chinese Society of Mathematics.

Besides research work, he also gives lessons for postgraduate and undergraduate students, mainly including numerical solutions of partial differential equations, numerical analysis, computing method, boundary element method probability and statistics, complex analysis, topology, Numerical algebra, calculus

and so on.
